LOUISA — Lawrence County edged Prestonsburg 1-0 in a 58th District girls’ soccer match on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

Kendal Webb scored off an assist from Summer King to lift Lawrence County to the 58th District win.

Goalkeeper Abby Maynard paced Lawrence County defensively, recording a shutout for the Lady Bulldogs. Maynard turned back shots from Prestonsburg throughout the 58th District girls’ soccer match. The defensive leader for Lawrence County, Maynard recorded eight saves.

Lawrence County and Prestonsburg met for the first time in the 2023 girls’ high school soccer season.

Both Lawrence County and Prestonsburg will compete in the 58th District Girls’ Soccer Tournament in October.
