LOUISA — Belfry held on to beat Lawrence County 2-1 in a girls’ high school soccer season opener at Luke Varney Jr. Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

Lawrence County hosted Belfry for a high school soccer doubleheader.

Belfry and Lawrence County battled throughout the girls’ high school soccer season opener.

Offensively for Lawrence County, Evangeline Perry scored of an assist from Elle Parsley.

Goalkeeper Abby Maynard paced Lawrence County defensively, registering eight saves.

In a boys’ high school soccer season opener, Lawrence County beat Belfry 6-1.
