Lawrence County drops district match to Martin County

LOUISA — Lawrence County was held scoreless as Martin County pulled away to win 8-0 in a 57th District girls’ soccer match on Thursday, Sept. 26.
The loss forced Lawrence County to drop to 4-7-1 overall.
Martin County improved to 9-7-0 overall after notching the shutout win.
Faith Caldwell scored four goals and dished out three assists to lead Martin County to the victory.
Behind Caldwell, Laura Hale scored three goals and dealt out two assists for the Lady Cardinals.
Rounding out Martin County’s scoring, Kaylee Endicott netted one goal.
Chipping in offensively for Martin County, Emily Ledford and Mia Preece distributed one assist apiece.
Goalkeeper Vittoria Dellmotta paced Martin County defensively, recording a shutout. Dellmotta logged five saves.
Defensively for Lawrence County, goalkeeper Abby Maynard tallied 18 saves.
