LOUISA — Lawrence County blanked Floyd Central 15-0 in four innings in the 58th District Softball Tournament title game on Tuesday, May 21.

Starting strong, Lawrence County plated two runs in the bottom half of the first inning.

Following a scoreless second inning, Lawrence County erupted for 11 runs in the bottom half of the third inning to put the game out of Floyd Central’s reach.

Leading 13-0, Lawrence County plated a pair of runs in the bottom half of the fourth inning to claim the victory.

Taylor Blevins pitched a pitched a perfect game for Lawrence County and claimed the win in the circle. Blevins recorded six strikeouts.

Cadyn Roberson pitched for Floyd Central and suffered the loss in the circle.

Lawrence County scored 15 runs on 16 hits. Blevins (one hit), Dani Crum (three hits, four RBIs), Hallie Adkins (three hits, one RBI), Abby Nelson (two hits, five RBIs), Brooklyn Ellis (two hits, one RBI), Bree Jones (two hits), Jada Patton (one hit, two RBIs), Abby Maynard (one hit, two RBIs) and Addalyn Woods (one hit) each excelled offensively for the Lady Bulldogs. Nelson homered for Lawrence County in its shutout win.

Following the conclusion of the title game, Crum was named the 58th District Softball Player of the Year.

Lawrence County won a district title for the ninth straight season.

Both Lawrence County (27-4) and Floyd Central (14-11) advanced to the 15th Region Softball Tournament.
