LOUISA — Lawrence County pulled away to beat visiting Belfry 5-1 to capture the Class 2A, Section 8 girls' soccer championship on Wednesday, Sept. 8.

Jasmine Justice scored three goals to lead Lawrence County to the championship-clinching victory.

In addition to Justice's hat trick, Brylee Blair and Maggie Johnson netted one goal apiece for the Bulldogs.

Blair, Alyssa Moore, Jenna Sammons and Alyssa Howard distributed one assist apiece for Lawrence County in the win.

Goalkeeper Kaison Ward led Lawrence County's defensive effort, recording eight saves while allowing only one goal.

After claiming the Section 8 title, Lawrence County will compete in the 2A statewide girls' soccer tournament in Owensboro this Saturday.
