OWENSBORO — Lawrence County blanked Bath County 2-0 in the semifinals of the 2A Softball State Tournament on Friday, April 19.
Brooklyn Ellis pitched a one-hit shutout for the Lady Bulldogs. Ellis recorded 13 strikeouts and notched the win in the circle.
Lawrence County scored two runs on seven hits. Ellis (one hit, one RBI), Dani Crum (two hits), Abby Nelson (one hit, one RBI), Abby Maynard (one hit), Bree Jones (one hit) and Ella Smith (one hit) each aided Lawrence County offensively. Helping her pitching cause at the plate, Ellis tripled. Providing another extra-base hit for Lawrence County, Jones doubled.
Lawrence County 9, Warren East 7: Lawrence County outlasted Warren East 9-7 in the quarterfinals of the 2A Softball State Tournament on Friday, April 19.
Taylor Blevins started in the circle for Lawrence County and earned the win. Blevins pitched six innings and posted two strikeouts.
Brooklyn Ellis pitched the final inning for Lawrence County and claimed the save. Ellis recorded three strikeouts.
Lawrence County scored nine runs n 10 hits. Blevins (one hit, two RBIs), Ellis (two hits, one RBI), Dani Crum (two hits, one RBI), Addalyn Woods (two hits, one RBI), Bree Jones (one hit, one RBI), Abby Nelson (one hit, one RBI) and Jada Patton (one hit, one RBI) each delivered offensively for the Lady Bulldogs.
