LOUISA — Continuing to win, Lawrence County beat Betsy Layne 14-4 in five innings on Tuesday, March 25.
Taylor Blevins started in the circle for Lawrence County and earned the win. Blevins pitched three innings and recorded four strikeouts.
Following Blevins, Ella Smith pitched two innings in relief for the Lady Bulldogs. Smith struck out two Betsy Layne batters.
Lawrence County scored 14 runs on 14 hits. Blevins (one hit, two RBIs), Smith (two hits, one RBI), Bree Jones (three hits), Addalyn Woods (two hits, four RBIs), Abby Maynard (two hits, one RBI), Jada Patton (two hits, one RBI), Emalynn Kitts (one hit, two RBIs) and Gracie Preece (one hit, one RBI) each excelled offensively for the Lady Bulldogs. Delivering clutch hitting, Jones doubled and tripled. Woods, who drove in four runs, homered.
Lawrence County is scheduled to visit Betsy Layne for another 58th District game on Wednesday, April 30.
