LOUISA — Lawrence County swept a 58th District softball series from Prestonsburg, winning two games over three days.

The Lady Bulldogs won each game convincingly.

Lawrence County 15, Prestonsburg 4 (6 innings): Emalynn Kitts homered and drove in four runs as Lawrence County defeated Prestonsburg 15-4 in six innings in a 58th District softball game on Wednesday, March 26.

Ella Smith pitched a complete game for Lawrence County and earned the win in the circle. Smith posted five strikeouts.

Lawrence County scored 15 runs on 19 hits. Kitts (five hits, four RBIs), Smith (four hits, two RBIs), Bree Jones (three hits), Jada Patton (two hits, three RBIs), Addalyn Woods (two hits, one RBI), Gracie Preece (one hit, two RBIs), Abby Maynard (one hit, one RBI) and Taylor Blevins (one hit) each contributed offensively for the Lady Bulldogs.

Lawrence County 15, Prestonsburg 0 (4 innings): Lawrence County blanked host Prestonsburg 15-0 in four innings in a 58th District softball game on Monday, March 24.

Taylor Blevins and Ella Smith combined to pitch a two-hit shutout for the Lady Bulldogs.

Blevins started in the circle, pitched three innings and earned the win. An accomplished pitcher, Blevins recorded the 500th strikeout of her high school career. Blevins tallied nine strikeouts in the district matchup.

Smith closed out the game in the circle for Lawrence County, pitching the final inning. Pitching out of a relief role, Smith struck out one Prestonsburg batter.

Lawrence County scored 15 runs on 13 hits. A diverse offensive effort for Lawrence County included contributions from Smith (one hit, one RBI), Emalynn Kitts (three hits, three RBIs), Bree Jones (two hits, two RBIs), Addalyn Woods (two hits, one RBI), Jada Patton (two hits, one RBI), Leah Branham (one hit, one RBI), Braylee Triplett (one hit, one RBI), Millie Sammons (one hit), Addison Bowen (one RBI) and Lexi Crum (one RBI). Displaying power at the plate, Branham homered for the Lady Bulldogs.
