PAINTSVILLE — Johnson Central blanked crosstown rival Paintsville in a 57th District softball series, winning back-to-back games via shutouts Tuesday, April 19-Wednesday, April 20.

Madelyn Vaughn pitched a no-hitter to lead Johnson Central past visiting Paintsville 11-0 in five innings in a 57th District softball game on Tuesday, April 19.

Vaughn recorded six strikeouts while allowing only one walk over five innings as she claimed the win in the circle.

Laney Bledsoe absorbed the loss in the circle for the Lady Tigers. Bledsoe allowed 11 runs on seven hits and three walks while registering four strikeouts over four innings.

Johnson Central scored 11 runs on 10 hits.

Kendal Hall and Claire Gamble supplied two hits apiece for the Lady Eagles. Hall homered and collected four RBIs.

Abby Stambaugh pitched a one-hit shutout as Johnson Central beat host Paintsville 16-0 in four innings in a 57th District softball game on Wednesday, April 20.

Stambaugh allowed one hit and three walks while recording four strikeouts as she notched the win in the circle.

Johnson Central scattered 14 hits.

Randi Delong drilled two home runs for visiting Johnson Central. Both Abigail Williams and Josie Dials homered for the Lady Eagles.

Delong, Williams, Kendal Hall and Adyson Burchett each recorded two hits for Johnson Central. Delong collected four RBIs while Dials and Burchett drove in three runs apiece.
