LOUISA — Lawrence County rolled past its lone opponent from neighboring West Virginia in the 2020-21 boys' high school basketball season, leveling visiting Wayne 80-59 on Monday, March 8.
Lawrence County shot 50 percent (31-of-62) from the field. The Bulldogs were 5-of-14 (35.7 percent) from 3-point range.
Lawrence County shot 59.1 percent (13-of-22) from the free throw line.
Cody Maynard led Lawrence County, scoring a game-high 26 points for the Bulldogs in the win. Maynard was 43-of-4 from three-point range. The Bulldogs' leading scorer finished 6-of-12 from inside the arc,
In addition to Maynard's game-high scoring effort, Trenton Adkins delivered a double-double for the Bulldogs, scoring 16 points and securing 10 rebounds.
Finishing near double figures for the Bulldogs, Kaden Gillispie and Will Lafferty added eight points apiece.
Following a lengthy delay, Wayne tipped off its latest season recently.
