The Lawrence County High School Lady Bulldogs are in Myrtle Beach, S.C., this week to participate in the Cal Ripken Experience Tournament and will return home to host the Kentucky 2A-Section 8 Tournament Monday, April 10, and play Belfry and Floyd Central; and April 11, the Bulldogs will play Pike County Central. Both games will begin at 6 p.m. The coach is Kenny Horn. IRONTON, Ohio — Lawrence County knocked off out-of-state opponent Ironton (Ohio) 11-1 in a high school softball game on Wednesday, March 29.

The Lady Bulldogs excelled offensively and defensively throughout the game.

Lawrence County pitcher Taylor Blevins earned the win in the circle. Blevins limited Ironton to one run on five hits while recording eight strikeouts in seven innings. The Lawrence County starter gave up only one walk.

Helping her pitching cause at the plate, Blevins provided two hits and one RBI.

Lawrence County scored 11 runs on 13 hits. Dani Crum (three hits, three RBIs), Abby Maynard (three hits, one RBI), Abby Nelson (two hits, three RBIs), Kensley Feltner (two hits, one RBI) and Shelby Blevins (one hit) thrived for Lawrence County at the plate. Crum and Nelson each homered for the Lady Bulldogs.

Lawrence County 11, Floyd Central 1 (6 innings)

Lawrence County pulled away to defeat Floyd Central 11-1 in six innings in a 58th District softball game on Tuesday, March 28.

Bree Jones started in the circle for Lawrence County and claimed the win. Jones pitched four and one-third innings, allowing one run on seven hits while recording four strikeouts.

Allie Triplett pitched a scoreless one and two-thirds innings for Lawrence County, holding Floyd Central hitless while striking out two batters.

Floyd Central pitcher Hannah Lewis suffered the loss. Lewis allowed 11 runs on 12 hits while recording two strikeouts over five and one-third innings.

Lawrence County scored 11 runs on 12 hits. Jones (two hits, one RBI), Abby Maynard (three hits, one RBI), Abby Nelson (two hits, four RBIs), Gracie Preece (two hits, three RBIs), Kensley Feltner (two hits, one RBI) and Dani Crum (one hit) each delivered at the plate for Lawrence County in the win.

Brooklyn Lewis (one hit, one RBI), Hannah Lewis (two hits), Chelsea Johnson (one hit), Madi Meade (one hit), Cadyn Roberson (one hit) and Whitley Hall (one hit) each connected at the plate for Floyd Central in the district game.
