Lady Tigers too much for Pike County Central

BUCKLEYS CREEK — Paintsville pulled away to defeat Pike County Central 73-45 on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Winning on the road, Paintsville notched its second straight win.

Paintsville shot 43.1 percent (28-of-65) from the field. The Lady Tigers shot 33.3 percent (13-of-39) from three-point range.

Paintsville shot 80 percent (four-of-five) from the free throw line and thrived inside. The Lady Tigers outrebounded Pike County Central 43-24.

Emma Keeton scored a game-high 22 points for the Lady Tigers. Keeton connected on six of 15 three-point field goal attempts.

Kylie Kinner and Brooklyn Skaggs netted 18 points apiece for the Lady Tigers.

The other scorers for Paintsville in its comfortable win were Eliza Howard (five points), Annabelle Blankenship (four points), Addison Helton (two points), Kate Lauffer (two points) and McKinley Ramey (two points).

Pike County Central shot 33.3 percent (17-of-51) from the field. The Lady Hawks shot 34.8 percent (eight-of-23) from three-point range.

Struggling to connect on free throw attempts, Pike County Central shot only 23.1 percent (three-of-13) from the foul line.

Abigail Hess scored 20 points to pace Pike County Central.

Barely missing double figures for Pike County Central, Lakin Fleming netted nine points.

The other scorers for Pike County Central were Abby May (seven points), Larah Stanley (five points) and Cydney Snodgrass (four points).
