Lady Tigers claim sixth straight win

PAINTSVILLE – Emilea Preece scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Paintsville past visiting Betsy Layne 52-40 in a girls' high school basketball game on Sunday, Feb. 21.

Paintsville claimed its sixth straight win.

Following the win, Paintsville improved to 8-4.

Betsy Layne dropped to 6-10 after suffering the loss.

The Lady Tigers forced Betsy Layne to play from behind during the girls' high school basketball matchup.

Paintsville finished 17-of-55 (30.9 percent) from the field. The Lady Tigers were 7-of-26 from 3-point range.

Paintsville finished 11-of-23 from the free throw line.

Chloe Hannah added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Lady Tigers.

Nearly recording a double-double for Paintsville, Ava Hyden netted nine points and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.

Paintsville and Betsy Layne met for the first time in the 2020-21 girls' high school basketball season.
