Feltner leads Lady Bulldogs over Betsy Layne 69-45

BETSY LAYNE – Kensley Feltner scored a game-high 27 points and hauled down nine rebounds to lead visiting Lawrence County over Betsy Layne 69-45 in a 58th District girls' basketball game at Junior Newsome Arena on Saturday, Feb. 20.
The win allowed Lawrence County to improve to 10-7. Betsy Layne dropped to 6-9 following the loss.
The Lady Bulldogs returned to the win column following a loss to former district rival Belfry one week earlier.
Lawrence County shot 43.9 percent (25-of-57) from the field in the win. The Lady Bulldogs were 6-of-18 (33.3 percent) from 3-point range.
Lawrence County shot 86.7 percent (13-of-15) from the free throw line in the victory.
The Lady Bulldogs led 51-35 at the end of the third quarter.
Kaison Ward and Kyleah Ward accompanied Feltner in double figures in scoring, netting 12 points apiece for the Lady Bulldogs.
The reigning 58th District girls' basketball champion, Lawrence County beat Betsy Layne for the second time in the 2020-21 girls' high school basketball season.
