Lady Tigers beat Shelby Valley 7-2

ROBINSON CREEK — Winning on the road, Paintsville upended Shelby Valley 7-2 in a high school softball game on Tuesday, March 22.

Laney Bledsoe pitched a complete game and earned the win in the circle for the Lady Tigers. Bledsoe allowed two runs on nine hits and four walks while recording 11 strikeouts over seven innings.

Macy Salyers started in the circle for Shelby Valley and suffered the loss. Salyers pitched six innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and one walk. The Shelby Valley starting pitcher recorded six strikeouts.

Paintsville plated seven runs on nine hits. Chessa Collins, Ashley Wells and Molly Music provided two hits apiece for the Lady Tigers. Wells legged out two triples and drove in a pair of runs.

Contributing to Paintsville’s offensive effort, Bledsoe, Carrigan Ratliff and Mattie Ratliff added one hit apiece. Bledsoe, Carrigan Ratliff and Mattie Ratliff each doubled for the Lady Tigers.

Kyra Looney finished 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in one run to pace Shelby Valley’s offensive effort.

Contributing offensively for Shelby Valley, Josie Adkins and Olivia Bowling added two hits apiece.

Paintsville returned to the win column following back-to-back losses.
