BUCKLEYS CREEK – Continuing to win on the road, visiting Johnson Central defeated Pike County Central 68-32 in a girls' high school basketball game on Monday, Feb. 8.
Johnson Central shot 47.3 percent (26-of-55) from the field in the win, The Lady Eagles were 10-of-30 (33.3 percent) from 3-point range.
Johnson Central shot 75 percent (6-of-8) from the free throw line.
Three Johnson Central players reached double figures in scoring.
Kelci Blair scored 20 points to lead Johnson Central to the win. Blair was 8-of-8 from inside the arc.
Sammi Sites followed, adding 16 points for the Lady Eagles.
Accompanying two of her teammates in double figures in scoring, Clara Blair netted 14 points for the Lady Eagles.
Sites and Clara Blair each connected on four three-point field goals for Johnson Central in the victory.
Pike County Central shot 31.6 percent (12-of-38) from the field. The Lady Hawks were 1-of-8 from 3-point range.
Pike County Central shot 77.8 percent (7-of-9) from the free throw line.
Lindsey Bowman paced Pike County Central, scoring 10 points. Bowman was the only Pike County Central player to reach double figures in scoring.
Emalie Tackett led Pike County Central on the backboards, pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds.
