Lady Eagles notch win over Shelby Valley in home opener

PAINTSVILLE — Johnson Central defeated Shelby Valley 77-35 in its home opener on Saturday, Dec. 13.
The Lady Eagles moved to 3-0 after notching the win.
Following the loss, Shelby Valley slipped to 1-2.
Johnson Central shot 46.8 percent (29-of-62) from the field. The Lady Eagles shot 31.6 percent (six-of-19) from three-point range.
Johnson Central, which received scoring from 11 different players, shot 81.2 percent (13-of-16) from the free throw line.
Karlea Stanley led Johnson Central offensively, netting 17 points. Finishing directly behind Stanley, Emma McKenzie scored 16 points for the Lady Eagles.
A balanced offensive attack for Johnson Central featured Martina Conley (eight points), Julie Dials (eight points), Allie Slone (six points), Kamryn Duncan (six points), Emma Ferguson (six points), Anna Cantrell (four points), Lily Jarrel (two points), Kate Collins (two points) and Ava Sparks (two points) scoring in single digs.
