Bulldogs defeat St. Mary in AIT’s final round

ASHLAND — Lawrence County won during the final round of the Ashland Invitational Tournament, defeating St. Mary 81-61 on Monday, Dec. 29.
The Bulldogs improved to 7-5 after registering the win.
Lawrence County shot 43.5 percent (27-of-62) from the field. The Bulldogs shot 30.3 percent (10-of-33) from three-point range.
Lawrence County shot 77.3 percent (17-of-22) from the free throw line.
Four different players reached double figures in Lawrence County’s scoring column.
Jaiden Harris led Lawrence County to the win, scoring 22 points for the Bulldogs. Harris connected on five of 13 three-point field goal attempts.
Accompanying Harris in double figures for Lawrence County, Hayden Perry scored 12 points, CJ Waller netted 11 points and Canden Muncy added 10 points.
Nine players provided scoring for the Bulldogs. Kaden Johnson (eight points), Luke Fetherolf (eight points), Isaah Hughes (five points), Andrew Ratcliff (three points) and Grant Cochran (two points) also provided scoring for Lawrence County in its win.
Waller recorded a double-double, claiming 13 rebounds for the Bulldogs.
Reigning 15th Region boys’ basketball champion Lawrence County returned to the win column after suffering back-to-back losses to Simon Kenton and Hopkinsville.
