VANCEBURG — Lawrence County beat host Lewis County 9-4 during the Babe Pollitt Showcase on Saturday, April 11.

Brinley Baisden pitched for Lawrence County and earned the win in the circle. Baisden recorded five strikeouts.

In addition, Baisden was named the player of the game.

Lawrence County was efficient offensively, scoring nine runs on nine hits. Jada Patton paced Lawrence County at the plate, finishing two-for-four with a grand slam, a double and four RBIs.

Along with Patton, Baisden (one hit, one RBI), Millie Sammons (one hit), Gracie Woods (one hit), Ella Smith (one hit), Baleigh Blackburn (one hit), Skyler Horn (one hit), Aleaha Gillispie (one hit) and Addalyn Woods (one RBI). contributed at the plate in Lawrence County’s victory.

George Rogers Clark 10, Lawrence County 1: Lawrence County was limited offensively as George Rogers Clark pulled away to win 10-1 at during the Babe Pollitt Showcase at Lewis County on Saturday, April 11.

Braylee Triplett started in the circle for Lawrence County and suffered the loss. Triplett struck out one George Rogers Clark batter.

Aleaha Gillispie pitched in relief for the Lady Bulldogs.

Triplett and Gillispie each pitched three innings.

Lawrence County was held to one run on two hits. Jada Patton and Leah Branham each connected for one hit for the Lady Bulldogs. Patton homered and drove in Lawrence County’s lone run.

Honored for her performance, Patton was named the player of the game.
