GATLINBURG, Tenn. — Lawrence County outlasted Volunteer (Tenn.) 52-50 during the opening round of the Smoky Mountain Winter Classic at Rocky Top Sports World on Monday, Dec. 29.

The Lady Bulldogs connected on 17 field goals, five of which were three-pointers. Lawrence County managed to shoot 72.2 percent (13-of-18) from the free throw line.

Brooke Marcum led Lawrence County, scoring a team-high 17 points for the Lady Bulldogs.

Finishing directly behind Marcum in Lawrence County’s scoring column, Jada Patton netted 16 points.

Lawrence County, which notched its fourth win in six games, received scoring from seven different players. Caroline See (five points), Maddison Artrip (five points), Jenna Murphy (four points), Emalynn Kitts (three points) and Gracie Woods (two points) aided Lawrence County in its win.  

Inside for Lawrene County, Madison Artrip hauled in six rebounds.

North Bullitt 72, Lawrence County 59: North Bullitt beat Lawrence County 72-59 during the second round of the Smoky Mountain Winter Classic on Tuesday, Dec. 30.

Lawrence County shot 37.8 percent (17-of-45) from the field. The Lady Bulldogs shot 35.7 percent (five-of-14) from three-point range.

Lawrence County shot 66.7 percent (20-of-30) from the free throw line.

Nearly recording a double-double for Lawrence County, Brooke Marcum scored 15 points and claimed nine rebounds.

Joining Marcum in double figures for Lawrence County, Jada Patton scored 15 points, and Emalynn Kitts netted 14 points.

Finishing outside double figures, Maddison Artrip (six points), Gracie Woods (five points), Caroline See (two points) and Addison Bowen (one point) also contributed offensively for the Lady Bulldogs.

Lumpkin County (Ga.) 64, Lawrence County 55: Lumpkin County (Ga.) defeated Lawrence County 64-55 during the final round of the Smoky Mountain Winter Classic on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

Lawrence County shot 36.0 percent (18-of-50) from the field. The Lady Bulldogs shot 35.3 percent (six-of-17) from three-point range.

Lawrence County shot 61.9 percent (13-of-21) from the free throw line.

Six players accounted for all of Lawrence County’s scoring. The scorers for Lawrence County were Brooke Marcum (15 points), Jada Patton (13 points), Caroline See (12 points), Maddison Artrip (nine points), Emalynn Kitts (four points) and Jenna Murphy (two points).
