Lady Bulldogs outlast Greenup County

LLOYD — Lawrence County outlasted Greenup County 64-62 in a prep hoops matchup on Thursday, Jan. 22.
The Lady Bulldogs returned to the win column after dropping back-to-back games to 58th District rival Floyd Central and Boyd County.
Following the win, Lawrence County improved to 7-9.
Lawrence County shot 72.7 percent from the foul line, connecting on 24 of 33 free throw attempts.
Jada Patton led Lawrene County to the win. Patton scored a game-high 26 points for the Lady Bulldogs.
Joining Patton in double figures for Lawrence County, Brooke Marcum netted 23 points.
Seven different players scored for Lawrence County in the two-point win. Emalynn Kitts (five points), Maddison Artrip (five points), Annabelle Hayes (two points), Caroline See (two points) and Gracie Woods (one point) followed Marcum in Lawrence County’s scoring column.
Greenup County (7-11) shot 61.8 percent (21-of-34) from the free throw line.
Dharia Crum (15 points), Addison Branim (12 points) and Tenley Melvin (12 points) each reached double figures in scoring for the Lady Musketeers.
The other scorers for Greenup County were Maddy Steele (nine points), Eva Wireman (seven points), Heidi Felty (four points) and Leah Langley (three points).
