Casting for Kids to kick off 2026 fishing schedule on April 18

Casting for Kids is kicking off its 2026 fishing schedule beginning with Lake Cumberland on April 18, at Conley Bottom, with classic qualifiers of top 50 boats. Registration will begin on Feb. 1, online, followed by Yatesville/Paintsville Lakes on April 25, also with top 50 boats.

There is just a few days left to sign up for the Yatesville/Paintsville Anglers Casting for Kids, which is being presented by Weidas Marine. The event has been held for 11 years.

Any angler who fished in the 2025 tournament will have the first invite thru Jan. 31, then the waiting list will be open on Feb. 1. Sign up on-line at Casting4kids.net.

This year a drawing will be held live on-line Oct. 3, for a fishing boat. Tickets are now on sale and are 1 for $25; 3 tickets for $50; or 7 tickets for $100.

The boat will be wrapped in Full Casting for Kids and will have new seats and carpet installed.

The boat will be on display at all events in 2026.  

The Kids tournament will be held on Friday, June 5, at Paintsville Lake State Park “Evening to Shine” and Saturday, June 6, “Kylie’s Kid Kayak” event (ages 13-8) and the kids tournament (ages 4-12).

Casting for Kids Classic Dayton Boat Ramp tournament at Lake Chickamauga will be Oct. 11-18.
