Lady Bulldogs fall to Pike County Central in 2A, Section 8 Tournament

EASTERN — Pike County Central held on to edge Lawrence County 4-3 in nine innings in the 2A, Section 8 Softball Tournament at Floyd Central High School on Tuesday, April 11.

The loss eliminated Lawrence County from the 2A, Section 8 Softball Tournament.

Pike County Central pitcher Chloe Hannah claimed the win in the circle. Hannah pitched a complete game, allowing two earned runs on eight hits while recording six strikeouts.

Lawrence County pitcher Taylor Blevins took the loss in the circle. Blevins allowed only one earned run while recording 16 strikeouts.

Pike County Central plated four runs on six hits. Sydney Thompson (one hit, one RBI), Taylor Hannah (one hit), Chloe Hannah (one hit, one RBI), Emalie Tackett (one hit), Kaiden Hess (one hit) and Livia Sanders (one hit) each chipped in at the plate for the Lady Hawks.

Lawrence County scored two runs on eight hits. Kensley Feltner led Lawrence County at the plate, finishing three-for-three with a single, a double, a triple and an RBI.

Blevins (one hit), Gracie Preece (two hits), Allie Triplett (one hit, one RBI) and Bree Jones (one hit) followed Feltner’s leading offensive performance for the Lady Bulldogs.

Lawrence County is scheduled to visit Pike County Central for a late-season game on Monday, May 8.
