Lady Bulldogs fall to Kittens in final regular season game

LOUISA — Lawrence County was limited offensively as Ashland prevailed 5-1 in a high school softball regular season finale on Friday, May 15.

The Lady Bulldogs exited the regular season with an 18-12 record.

Addi Laine pitched for Ashland and earned the win in the circle. Laine tallied 11 strikeouts.

Taylor Blevins pitched for Lawrence County and suffered the loss in the circle. Blevins recorded nine strikeouts.  

Ashland scored five runs on six hits. Laine (one hit, one RBI), Zoey Smith (one hit, one RBI), Paige Harmon (one hit, one RBI), Jenna Delaney (one hit), Ashley Ingram (one hit) and Addison Wolfe (one RBI) each aided Ashland offensively.

Lawrence County pushed across one run on three hits. Jada Patton (two hits) and Emalynn Kitts (one hit, one RBI) were successful at the plate for the Lady Bulldogs. Kitts homered for Lawrence County’s lone run.

Prior to suffering the setback, Lawrence County had reeled off four straight wins over perennial 16th Region title contender Ashland.
