Lady Bulldogs drop game at Johnson Central

PAINTSVILLE — Lawrence County was limited at the plate as Johnson Central won 7-1 on Thursday, May 1.

Johnson Central controlled the high school softball game. The Lady Eagles led 7-0 before Lawrence County crossed home plate in the top half of the seventh inning.

Arabella Bowen pitched a complete game for Johnson Central and earned the win in the circle. Bowen recorded four strikeouts during her complete game performance.

Taylor Blevins started in the circle for Lawrence County and took the loss. Blevins pitched the first five innings and recorded five strikeouts.

Following Blevins, Braylee Triplett pitched one inning in relief for the Lady Bulldogs.  

Johnson Central scored seven runs on seven hits. Julie Dials (two hits, two RBIs), Mayson Delong (one hit, two RBIs), Adyson Burchett (one hit, one RBI), Keylee Blair (one hit, one RBI), Josie Dials (one hit, one RBI) and Mia Estep (one hit) each produced for Johnson Central in its win. Showing speed, Delong tripled for the Lady Eagles.

The Lady Eagles overcame two errors to register the win.

Lawrence County pushed across one run on three hits. Abby Maynard, Addalyn Woods and Brinley Baisden each provided one hit for the Lady Bulldogs.

Lawrence County committed one error in the setback.
