Lady Bulldogs defeat Lewis County

VANCEBURG — Lawrence County defeated host Lewis County 7-2 on Tuesday, April 22.
The Lady Bulldogs finished strong to claim the win. Lawrence County plated four runs in the top half of the seventh inning.
Taylor Blevins pitched a complete game for Lawrence County and earned the win in the circle. Blevins struck out one Lewis County batter in a solid pitching outing.
Jerra Lucas pitched a complete game for Lewis County and took the loss in the circle. Lucas posted three strikeouts.
The Lady Bulldogs fared well offensively and defensively.
Lawrence County scored seven runs on 11 hits. Brinley Baisden (two hits, two RBIs), Ella Smith (two hits, two RBIs), Lexi Crum (two hits, one RBI), Emalynn Kitts (two hits), Jada Patton (one hit, two RBIs), Abby Maynard (one hit) and Gracie Preece (one hit) each excelled at the plate in Lawrence County’s victory.
Lewis County scored two runs on four hits. Lucas (one hit), Kayson Crawford (one hit, one RBI), Myla Clark (one hit) and Grace Switzer (one hit) each chipped in at the plate for the Lady Lions.
Lawrence County is scheduled to host Lewis County for a late-season game on Saturday, May 10.
