Greenup County upends Lawrence County

LOUISA — Greenup County upended Lawrence County, winning 8-2 on Monday, April 21.
Josey Kegley pitched a complete game for Greenup County and earned the win in the circle. Kegley recorded nine strikeouts.
Taylor Blevins started in the circle for Lawrence County and suffered the loss. Blevins pitched three innings and struck out one Greenup County batter.
Following Blevins, Braylee Triplett pitched four innings in relief for Lawrence County and tallied two strikeouts.
Greenup County scored eight times on 10 hits. Offensively for Greenup County, Maddy Steele (three hits), Laela Mathews (two hits, four RBIs), Addison Branim (two hits, two RBIs), Charleigh Grayson (one hit), Jaylen Cooper (one hit) and Adrian Wells (one hit) each made an impact. Both Laela Matthews and Addison Branim homered for the Lady Musketeers.
Lawrence County plated two runs on six hits. Gracie Preece (two hits, one RBI), Addalyn Woods (two hits), Jada Patton (one hit, one RBI) and Bree Jones (one hit) each contributed at the plate for the Lady Bulldogs. Providing a lift for Lawrence County, Patton homered. Patton belted her third home run in the 2025 high school softball season. Connecting for two extra-base hits, Woods doubled twice.
Lawrence County and Greenup County aren’t scheduled to meet again in the 2025 high school softball season.
