Lady Bulldogs defeat Letcher County Central in final regular season game

LOUISA — Lawrence County won its final game in the high school softball regular season, defeating Letcher County Central 9-2 on Thursday, May 15.
Taylor Blevins pitched a complete game for Lawrence County and earned the win in the circle. Blevins recorded five strikeouts.
Scarlett Stamper pitched a complete game for Letcher County Central and absorbed the loss in the circle. Stamper recorded nine strikeouts.
Lawrence County scored nine runs on seven hits. Aleaha Gillispie (two hits, one RBI), Bree Jones (one hit, two RBIs), Emalynn Kitts (one hit, two RBIs), Abby Maynard (one hit), Ella Smith (one hit), Addalyn Woods (one hit) and Leah Branham (one RBI) each contributed at the plate for Lawrence County in its win. Kitts, who drove in two runs, doubled for the Lady Bulldogs.
Letcher County Central pushed across two runs on five hits. Kelsey Bentley (one hit, one RBI), Katie Combs (one hit, one RBI), Amirah Cook (one hit), Kara Holcomb (one hit) and Kaily Bentley (one hit) each chipped in offensively for the Lady Cougars.
