PIKEVILLE — Lawrence County has captured its 10th consecutive district girls' soccer championship. Former 15th Region champion Lawrence County shut out tournament host Pikeville 6-0 in the 58th District girls' soccer title match on Thursday, Oct. 15. Lawrence County moved to 10-2-0 after the championship-clinching victory. Pikeville dropped to 3-10-0 following the setback. Emersyn Elliott scored two goals and dealt out three assists to lead Lawrence County to the win. Equaling Elliott in the scoring column, Shelby Borders added two goals of her own for the Lady Bulldogs. Along with Elliott and Borders, Ellie Webb (one goal, two assists), Alyssa Howard (one goal) and Casey Hovis (one assist) chipped in offensively for the Lady Bulldogs. Goalkeeper Citori Branham recorded a shutout and two saves to pace Lawrence County defensively. Both Lawrence County and Pikeville advanced to the 15th Region Girls' Soccer Tournament. Lawrence County 12, Shelby Valley 0 Lawrence County rolled past Shelby Valley 12-0 in the opening round of the 58th District Volleyball Tournament in Pikeville on Tuesday, Oct. 13. The Lady Bulldogs used a balanced offensive effort to notch the shutout win. Emersyn Elliott (four goals, one assist), Alyssa Moore (three goals, one assist), Ellie Webb (two goals, three assists), Camran Diamond (one goal, two assists), Shelby Borders (one goal, one assist), Saibra Moore (one goal), Casey Hovis (one assist) and Maggie Johnson (one assist) contributed offensively for Lawrence County in the victory. Lawrence County goalkeeper Citori Branham logged the shutout, tallying one save.
