Kinner hits school-record 12 threes in Paintsville’s win over East Ridge

PAINTSVILLE — Seventh grader Kylie Kinner hit a school-record 12 three-point field goals to lead Paintsville over East Ridge 57-24 in a girls’ high school basketball game on Thursday, Jan. 27.

Kinner connected on 12 of 16 three-point field goal attempts, pouring in a game-high 36 points for the Tigers. The Paintsville seventh grader's total is the third-most in state history. It is second-most in 15th Region history. Feds Creek standout Claire Fuller drained 13 three-point field goals in a game versus Elkhorn City in 1990.

Paintsville shot 33.9 percent (19-of-56) from the field. The Tigers shot 31.7 percent (13-of-41) from three-point range.

Paintsville shot 66.7 percent (six-of-nine) from the free throw line.

Nearly recording a double-double while accompanying Kinner in double figures, Emilea Preece added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers.

Ava Hyden, a senior, provided five points and nine rebounds in Paintsville's win.

East Ridge shot 33.3 percent (19-of-57) from the field. The Warriors shot 23.5 percent (10-of-14) from the free throw line.

East Ridge shot 71.4 percent (10-of-14) from the free throw line.

Syliva Ratliff and Leah Wells scored 14 points apiece for East Ridge in the hoops match.

Finishing one field goal short of reaching double figures for East Ridge, Olivia Stanley added eight points.
