Larry King won the first catfish tournament of 2022, catching over 42 feet of catfish. He also won the biggest fish with a 43-inch flathead caught on the Big Sandy River. The tournament was held May 13-15.

A total of $80 was raised for the Trooper Island Kids Summer Camp.

The next tournament will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, June 3, and run through Sunday, June 5, at 5 p.m. The event will be a buddy tournament with a $50 entry fee, with $10 going toward the biggest fish, $30 to the winner of most inches total, and $10 to the Karla Huff Foundation. Patrick Morgan has donated a Slime Cat Rod to the winner.

Tournament participants can fish the Big Sandy, Tug, Levisa or Ohio rivers, and all fish must be caught on a rod and reel. Participants can fish from the bank or boat.
