PAINTSVILLE — Senior guards Kelci Blair and Sammi Sites scored 24 points apiece to lead Johnson Central past visiting West Carter 62-51 in a girls' high school basketball game on Friday, Jan. 8.
A perennial 15th Region title contender, Johnson Central claimed its second straight victory.
Johnson Central improved to 2-1 after recording the win.
West Carter dropped to 1-1 following the loss.
Johnson Central sot 45.8 percent (22-of-48) from the field. The Lady Eagles finished 5-of-17 (29.4 percent) from 3-point range.
Johnson Central shot 81.2 percent (13-of-16) from 3-point range.
Nearly reaching double figures for Johnson Central, Clara Blair added nine points.
Rounding out Johnson Central's individual scoring, KK Vannoy chipped in five points.
Johnson Central was set to host crosstown rival Paintsville in a 57th District girls' basketball game on Tuesday, Jan. 12.
