PAINTSVILLE — Johnson Central rolled past visiting Pikeville 15-4 in five innings on Saturday, April 29.

Maddie Vaughn picked up the win in the circle for Johnson Central, limiting Pikeville to four earned runs on four hits. Vaughn recorded eight strikeouts.

Johnson Central scored 15 runs on 11 hits. Mayson Delong led Johnson Central at the plate, finishing four-for-four with two doubles, one triple and six RBIs.

Vaughn (one hit, four RBIs), Josie Dials (two hits), Sophie Younce (one hit, two RBIs), Carrigan Ratliff (one hit), Keylee Blair (one hit) and Abbie Stambaugh (one hit) joined Delong in Johnson Central’s offensive attack. Helping her pitching cause at the plate, Vaughn homered.

Chloe Hannah pitched visiting Pike County Central past Johnson Central. Claiming the win in the circle, Hannah limited Johnson Central to one earned run on six hits while recording eight strikeouts.

Johnson Central pitcher Keylee Blair took the loss in the circle. Blair allowed two earned runs on two hits while recording six strikeouts over seven innings.

Livia Sanders paced Pike County Central at the plate, delivering a double and driving in both of the winning team’s runs.

Johnson Central scored one run on six hits. Adyson Burchett (one hit, one RBI), Mayson Delong (one hit), Randi Delong (one hit), Abbie Stambaugh (one hit), Carrigan Ratliff (one hit) and Sophie Younce (one hit) each connected at the plate for Johnson Central in the matchup between two 15th Region title contenders.
