Johnson Central ranked first in preseason Class 4A rankings

PAINTSVILLE — Reigning state champion Johnson Central is ranked first in the CalPreps.com Preseason Class 4A Rankings. The Golden Eagles are ranked ahead of Boyle County (2), Central (3), Lexington Catholic (4), Wayne County (5), Franklin County (6), Madisonville-North Hopkins (7), Hopkinsville (8), Harlan County (9), Corbin (10), Knox Central (11), Logan County (12), Shelby County (13), Franklin-Simpson (14), Anderson County (15), Covington Scott (16), Holmes (17), Letcher County Central (18), Bourbon County (19), Clay County (20), Waggener (21), Allen County-Scottsville (22), John Hardin (23), Spencer County (24), Moore (25), Rowan County (26), Lincoln County (27), Warren East (28), North Oldham (29), Russell County (30), Harrison County (31), Boyd County (32), Calloway County (33), Valley (34), Perry County Central (35), Marion County (36), Hopkins County Central (37) and Warren Central (38). Johnson Central ended the 2019 high school football season 15-0 after outlasting Boyle County 21-20 in the Class 4A title game at Kroger Field in Lexington. The Golden Eagles outscored opponents 677-155 during the 2019 high school football season. Johnson Central has reached five consecutive Class 4A state title games. The Golden Eagles are scheduled to kick off the 2020 high school football season in August.
