INEZ — Martin County senior center Trey James is ranked fifth in the Rick Bolus' High Potential Recruiting Service Kentucky boys' basketball player rankings. James holds scholarship offers from Appalachian State, Eastern Kentucky, Elon, Iowa, Tennessee Tech and Wake Forest. The Martin County center decommitted from Wake Forest in April. James was named a Second Team All-State selection following the conclusion of the 2019-20 boys' high school basketball season. The Herald-Leader honored James as an Second Team All-State selection. James helped to lead Martin County to the 2019-20 15th Region boys' basketball title in March. Through 34 games for the Cardinals in the 2019-20 boys' high school basketball season, James averaged a double-double of 14.8 points and 11.1 rebounds. James continues to draw recruiting interest from several men's college basketball programs. The Martin County center is uncommitted.
