Johnson Central knocks off number one Warren East 4-2

PAINTSVILLE — Johnson Central knocked off No. 1 Warren East 4-2 in a high school softball game on Monday, April 5.

The win allowed Johnson Central to move to 5-0.

Johnson Central pitcher Chloe VanHoose earned the win in the circle. VanHoose pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on five hits whole recording four strikeouts in seven innings. The Johnson Central pitcher allowed only one walk.

Johnson Central plated four runs on five hits. Mayson DeLong led Johnson Central at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

VanHoose and Kendal Hall added one hit apiece for the Lady Eagles. Adding run support VanHoose drove in one run.

Clara Blair provided two RBIs for Johnson Central in the win.

Johnson Central 4, Lewis County 1

Johnson Central turned back visiting Lewis County in a high school softball game on Friday, April 9, winning 4-1.

Thriving in the circle, Johnson Central pitcher Chloe VanHoose limited Lewis County to one run on three hits and claimed the pitching win.

Lewis County pitcher Emily Cole suffered the loss in the circle despite limiting Johnson Central's offensive attack and recording nine strikeouts.

Johnson Central scored four runs on only two hits.

Randi Delong collected both of Johnson Central's hits in the victory, finishing 2-for-3 at the plate.

Helping her pitching cause at the plate, VanHoose recorded two RBIs.

Contributing offensively for Johnson Central, Emily Adkins and Abigail Williams drove in one run apiece.
