Golden Eagles beat Belfry 11-4

BELFRY — Visiting Johnson Central pulled away to beat Belfry 11-4 in a high school baseball game on Friday, April 9.
Cameron Kelsey started on the mound for the Golden Eagles. Kelsey allowed two hits and four runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two.
Ashton Deskins started on the mound for the Pirates. Deskins surrendered four runs on four hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one.
Josh Slone worked out of a relief role on the mound for Johnson Central, giving up four runs while holding Belfry scoreless over three and one-third innings. Slone recorded six strikeouts.
Noah Brown, Chase Justice, Wyatt Webb and Tyler Slone each entered the game as relief pitchers for Belfry, throwing two innings, one and one-third innings, two-thirds of an inning and one-third of an inning, respectively.
Johnson Central doubled up Belfry 12-6 in the hits column.
Slone, Ryan Sartin-Slone, Conner Lemaster and Chandler Spradlin each recorded multiple hits for the Golden Eagles. Sartin-Slone paced Johnson Central offensively, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
Lemaster and Spradlin added two hits apiece for the Golden Eagles. Spradlin collected two RBIs while Lemaster, Gavin Crum and Brock Bowling drove in one run apiece.
Johnson Central overcame four errors to win convincingly.
Deskins, Devin Jude, Parker Hall, Steven Banks, Jake Varney and Jonathan Banks provided one hit apiece for the Pirates.
Belfry committed five errors.
