Johnson Central defeats Phelps 59-49

PHELPS — Winning a non-district game, Johnson Central defeated 15th Region rival Phelps 59-49 on Thursday, Jan. 2.

Johnson Central shot 39.3 percent (24-of-61) from the field. The Lady Eagles shot 25 percent (seven-of-28) from three-point range.

Johnson Central shot 80 percent (four-of-five) from the free throw line.

Allie Slone led Johnson Central, scoring 18 points for the Lady Eagles. Slone was the only Johnson Central player to reach double figures.

Narrowly missing double figures for Johnson Central, Jaylin Blanton and Paislee Sagraves scored nine points apiece.

Contributing to a diverse offensive effort, Martina Conley and Emma Ferguson netted eight points apiece for Johnson Central while Emma McKenzie scored seven points.

Productive inside, McKenzie claimed eight rebounds.
