PRESTONSBURG — Johnson Central shut out Perry County Central 7-0 in the 2A, Section 8 Softball Tournament title game at StoneCrest on Thursday, April 10.

The Lady Eagles pushed across one run in the bottom half of the opening inning and clung to a slim lead until their fourth at-bat.

Johnson Central plated six runs over its last three at-bats to pull away for the win.

Keylee Blair pitched a five-hit shutout for the Lady Eagles. Blair, who pitched a complete game, recorded seven strikeouts as she earned the win in the circle.

Johnson Central scored seven runs on 11 hits. Blair (one hit, one RBI), Adyson Burchett (three hits, one RBI), Kiley Hall (two hits, four RBIs), Leah Hall (two hits), Jadyn Estep (two hits) and Julie Dials (one hit, one RBI) each connected at the plate and reached base as part of a diverse offensive attack for the Lady Eagles. Kiley Hall homered for Johnson Central in its sectional championship-clinching victory.

Following the win, Johnson Central advances to the 2A State Softball Tournament.
