GRAYSON — Lawrence County upended familiar rival East Carter in a mid-season game, winning 12-2 on Friday, April 11.

Eli Fletcher started on the mound for Lawrence County and earned the win. Fletcher pitched five and two-thirds innings and recorded four strikeouts.

Logan Whisenant closed out the game on the mound for Lawrence County and claimed the save. Whisenant struck out three East Carter batters.  

Lawrence County scored 12 runs on 10 hits. A balanced offensive attack for Lawrence County featured Fletcher (two hits, one RBI), Whisenant (two hits, three RBIs), Boedy Maynard (one hit, two RBIs), Gray Derifield (one hit, one RBI), Brady Caudill (one hit, one RBI), Tyger Cavins (one hit, one RBI), Cameron Perkins (one hit) and Owen Pack (one hit). Fletcher, Derifield and Perkins each doubled for the Bulldogs.  

Lawrence County is scheduled to host East Carter for a regular season finale on Thursday, May 15.
