Johnson Central captures 57th District title

INEZ — Johnson Central pulled away to defeat Magoffin County 15-0 in three innings in the 57th District Softball Tournament title game at Martin County on Tuesday, May 21.

Raelyn Adkins pitched a two-hit shutout for Johnson Central and earned the win in the circle. Adkins recorded five strikeouts.

Laney Bledsoe pitched for Magoffin County and suffered the loss in the circle. Bledsoe struck out one Johnson Central batter.

Johnson Central scored 15 runs on 17 hits. Adkins (one hit, one RBI), Julie Dials (three hits, three RBIs), Mayson Delong (three hits, one RBI), Adyson Burchett (two hits, two RBIs), Randi Delong (two hits, two RBIs), Josie Dials (two hits), Ashlyn Patrick (two hits), Abbie Stambaugh (one hit, one RBI), Lacey Smith (one hit) and Carrigan Ratliff (one RBI) each made an impact offensively in Johnson Central’s shutout win. Providing a lift at the plate for Johnson Central, Julie Dials homered.

Daylin Patrick (one hit) and Jaden Williams (one hit) each chipped in offensively for Magoffin County during the district tournament title game.

Both Johnson Central (24-14) and Magoffin County (9-10) advanced to the 15th Region Softball Tournament.
