PIKEVILLE — University of Pikeville sophomore kicker Jake Headley has been named the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Special Teams Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday, Sept. 20.

Headley booted seven extra-point kicks and a 25-yard field goal in Pikeville's season over visiting Mid-South Conference rival Bluefield on Saturday, Sept. 18. Headley's 25-yard field goal in the fourth quarter put the Bears out in front 45-20.

The seven extra points by Headley is a career high, topping his highest from the previous season which was five.

Headley was a senior kicker for Johnson Central when the Golden Eagles won the Class 4A state championship in 2019.
