PAINTSVILLE — Johnson Central shut out Shelby Valley 11-0 in the opening round of the 15th Region Boys’ Soccer Tournament at Coach Jim Matney Field on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
The win allowed Johnson Central to advance to the semifinals of the 15th Region Boys’ Soccer Tournament.
Gavin Webb scored five goals and dealt out two assists to lead Johnson Central to the win.
Following Webb in Johnson Central’s offensive attack, Mason Walker netted three goals and dished out two assists.
The additional offensive contributors for Johnson Central were Jarend Zimbelman (one goal, two assists), Cory Hammond (one goal), Bryson Sergent (one goal), Conner Watts (three assists) and Bryston Conway (one assist).
Goalkeeper Peyton Daniel led Johnson Central defensively, recording a shutout for the Golden Eagles. Daniel supplied two saves for Johnson Central in its win.
