PAINTSVILLE — Remaining in the win column, Johnson Central shut out Russell 4-0 on Saturday, April 29.

Dawson Montgomery pitched a two-hit shutout to lead Johnson Central to the victory. Registering the win on the mound, Montgomery recorded nine strikeouts. The Johnson Central hurler threw 82 pitches.

The Golden Eagles scored four runs on eight hits. Logan Morrow (two hits), Hunter Blevins (two hits), Brock Butcher (one hit, one RBI), Cole Ward (one hit, one RBI), Ethan McCarty (one hit, one RBI) and Cameron Kelsey (one hit) each connected at the plate for Johnson Central in its victory. Supplying an extra-base hit for the Golden Eagles, Morrow doubled.

Pitching in relief for Johnson Central, Chase Preece claimed the win on the mound. Preece pitched three scoreless innings, recording one strikeout. Working out a relief role, Preece held Wolfe County hitless.

Hunter Blevins started on the mound for the Golden Eagles. Blevins pitched four innings, allowing one earned run on one hit while registering four strikeouts.
