BELFRY — Johnson Central pulled away to defeat Belfry 46-21 at Haywood Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 6.
The Golden Eagles moved to 3-0 after registering the win.
Two-time state champion Johnson Central, a title contender in the current campaign, rushed 50 times for 377 yards and six touchdowns. Braxton Perry paced Johnson Central on the ground, rushing 14 times for 180 yards and two touchdowns.
Following Perry, Logan Music rushed 13 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns.
Behind Music, Collin Cantrell rushed 15 times for 75 yards and two touchdowns.
Dylan Lemaster paced Johnson Central defensively, recording 17 tackles for the Golden Eagles.
In another strong defensive performance for Johnson Central, JD Morris added nine tackles, one tackle for a loss and one sack.
In addition to thriving on the ground, Perry returned a fumble for a touchdown.
Johnson Central is scheduled to host Pikeville for its next game on Friday, Sept. 12.
