LOUISA — Lawrence County is set to host North Laurel for its fourth game in the 2025 high school football season at Luke Varney Jr. Memorial Stadium on Friday, Sept. 19.
The Bulldogs were open the week of Friday, Sept. 12.
Lawrence County and North Laurel have not met since the 2008 high school football season. North Laurel defeated Lawrence County 18-8 on Aug. 29, 2008.
Lawrence County and North Laurel are due to meet in a non-district matchup.
The Bulldogs are 3-0. Prior to its open week, Lawrence County reeled off three straight wins over Martin County, Garrard County and Ashland. Lawrence County held on to defeat Ashland 24-21 in the Septemberfest Bowl on Thursday, Sept. 4.
The Bulldogs, under the direction of Coach Alan Short, compete in Class 3A, District 8. Lawrence County is averaging 464.7 yards and 5.4 touchdowns per game.
North Laurel is 2-1. The Jaguars have notched wins over Perry County Central and Madison Central. North Laurel suffered a loss to Corbin in the Praxel Line Services Bowl.
The Jaguars, under the direction of Coach Steven Nelson, compete in Class 5A, District 8. North Laurel is averaging 256 yards and two touchdowns per game.
Lawrence County’s remaining regular season schedule is comprised of games versus North Laurel, Letcher County Central, Mason County, Powell County, Estill County, Magoffin County and Boyd County.
Kickoff for the Lawrence County-North Laurel game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
