PAINTSVILLE — Johnson Central outlasted Lawrence County 2-1 in the title match of the 2A, Section 8 Boys’ Soccer Tournament at Coach Jim Matney Field on Thursday, Aug. 29.

Bryson Sergent and Mason Walker scored one goal apiece for the Golden Eagles.

Contributing to Johnson Central’s offensive attack, Ty Wilson and Jarend Zimbleman distributed one assist apiece.

Defensively for Johnson Central, goalkeeper Peyton Daniel recorded eight saves while limiting Lawrence County to one goal.

Johnson Central 3, Perry County Central 2: Johnson Central edged Perry County Central 3-2 in the semifinals of the 2A, Section 8 Boys’ Soccer Tournament at Coach Jim Matney Field on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

Mason Walker scored two goals to pace the Golden Eagles.

Joining Walker in Johnson Central’s scoring column, Jackson Evans netted one goal.

Aiding Johnson Central defensively, Ty Wilson delivered two assists and Jarend Zimbleman added one assist.

Defensively for Johnson Central, goalkeeper Peyton Daniel recorded six saves.
