PAINTSVILLE — Excelling offensively and defensively, Johnson Central shut out Shelby Valley 10-0 in the semifinals of the 15th Region Boys’ Soccer Tournament at Coach Jim Matney Field on Tuesday, Oct. 3.

Brayden Staniford and Jarend Zimbleman scored three goals apiece to lead Johnson Central to the win.

Following Staniford and Zimbleman in Johnson Central’s scoring column, Mason Walker netted two goals.

Chipping in offensively for the Golden Eagles, Jaidon Daniel and Cory Hammond added one goal apiece.

Walker and Daniel each dished out two assists for Johnson Central in its shutout win.

Aiding the Golden Eagles offensively, Staniford, Hammond, Bryce Ferguson, Owen Trador and Elijah Sands each dealt out one assist.

Goalkeeper Peyton Daniel paced Johnson Central defensively, recording a shutout. Daniel recorded one save for the Golden Eagles.

Johnson Central (11-5-2) was set to meet Lawrence County (10-5-0) in the semifinals of the 15th Region Boys’ Soccer Tournament at press time on Tuesday, Oct. 10.
