PIKEVILLE – Johnson Central battled 15th Region rival Pikeville to a 2-2 tie in a boys' high school soccer match on Thursday, Sept. 2.
Braydon Staniford and Sawyer Crum scored one goal apiece for the Golden Eagles.
Goalkeeper Tate Cox led Johnson Central's defensive effort, recording nine saves while allowing two goals.
Alex Rogers scored two goals to lead Pikeville in the non-district match.
Aiding Pikeville offensively, Trey Hancock provided two assists for the Panthers.
Defensively for Pikeville, goalkeeper Byron Collins allowed two goals.
Earlier in the 2021 boys' high school soccer season, Johnson Central and Perry County Central battled to a 2-2 tie.
Johnson Central and Pikeville met for the second time in the 2021 boys' high school soccer season. The Golden Eagles edged the Panthers 3-2 on Monday, Aug. 16.
