LOUISA — Lawrence County faltered after a strong start as Floyd Central pulled away to win 3-1 in a 58th District volleyball match on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Floyd Central prevailed 19-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-17.

Weather Bryant (1 kill, 1 dig), Carleigh Frazier (5 digs, 3 service aces), Abigail Johnson (4 kills, 2 blocks, 1 dig, 1 service ace), Slone Akers (14 kills, 5 digs, 2 service aces), Chloe Howard (9 kills, 1 block, 6 digs, 3 service aces), Rylee Daniels (4 kills, 1 dig, 4 service aces), Jerrilynn Hatfield (1 kill, 22 digs, 3 service aces), Lydia Wallace (27 assists, 3 digs, 2 service aces) and Miley Thornsberry (2 digs) each contributed for Floyd Central in its district win.

Sophie Adkins (20 kills, 11 digs, 3 service aces), Aryn Huffman (13 assists, 13 digs, 3 service aces), Lainey Blevins (12 digs, 3 service aces), Brylee Stafford (8 kills, 6 digs, 1 service ace), Grace Blevins (1 kill, 1 block, 23 assists, 7 digs, 1 service ace), Aubrey Endicott (3 kills, 1 block, 15 digs) and Sara Shannon (8 kills, 1 block) comprised Lawrence County’s attack in the 58th District volleyball match.

In a 58th District volleyball match played on Monday, Sept. 23, Floyd Central shut out visiting Lawrence County 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-22).
